WatchDog™ & Protection Plan questions, answered
Do I need WatchDog™ to get the Protection Plan, or vice versa?
No — they’re independent. The Protection Plan covers capped-cost replacement on its own for $89/month per sensor. WatchDog™ monitoring adds $10/month per sensor on top of that, for $99/month total. You can also run WatchDog™ without the Protection Plan if you only want the dashboard.
Does WatchDog™ see patient data?
No. WatchDog™ tracks hardware serials, timestamps, and device status only — never patient information. There’s no PHI for it to touch, so HIPAA certification doesn’t apply to it, though we sign a Business Associate Agreement at signup anyway so the paperwork is covered either way.
Will WatchDog™ require IT to change our network or firewall?
No. WatchDog™ only makes outbound connections — it never opens an inbound port — so there’s nothing for IT to configure at any location, including across a multi-practice group.
What happens if I need more than one replacement in a year?
The Protection Plan covers up to two additional replacements at $2,999 each within the same year, and the cycle resets annually. The first capped replacement is $850; a free loaner sensor covers you while a replacement or repair is in progress.
How long does the Protection Plan run?
It can start from day one of ownership and run for up to five years, billed at $89/month per sensor (or $99/month with WatchDog™ included).
